President Vladimir Putin of Russia made a series of threatening statements to NATO about the "lightning-fast" response Russia would make if any NATO countries attempt to intervene in the war. Head of the Russian state-controlled television network RT, Margarita Simonyan, made some quite controversial statements in response.

Another host, Vladimir Solovyov, questioned on air why russia doesn't just strike the United Kingdom or the United States with nuclear weapons, and said that if the war ends in nuclear strikes, Russians will go to heaven, while people on the other side will "simply croak".
